Major research theme
Rather than development of pattern recognition and image processing for artificial intelligence, Michihiko Minoh’s research focuses on development of such technologies as tools for providing services for people. His interests include enhancement of functions of household electronic appliances, developing the architecture for connecting appliances to networks and thereby providing new services, monitoring conditions in the home and providing services appropriate for the circumstances.He is also engaged in research on monitoring of people in public facilities and provision of appropriate services, from the perspectives of disclosure of information obtained and privacy protection.
In this unit, He is interested in the real-time interaction and processing for very large amount of data that are collected by the sensors installed in real world.
