基調講演１"Openness and the New Reality in Education" (Tentative)
Ian Dolphin 氏 (Executive Director, Sakai Foundation)
ワールドクラスの多くの大学が利用する Sakai の立場から，教育学習に関する世界の潮流についてお話しいただきます．
【概要】
Internationally, higher and tertiary education has rarely faced a more comprehensive range of challenges. Against this backdrop, Sakai is changing. The Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment (CLE) is used by millions of students and educators worldwide. The Sakai Open Academic Environment (OAE) is charting a course towards the future of academic collaboration. Growing regional and national collaborations of Sakai institutions pose new challenges, but are making significant contributions to both the Sakai software and community. There is renewed interest in platforms to support research collaboration.
The merger of the Sakai Foundation with Jasig, the parent organisation for uPortal, CAS (Central Authentication Service), and a range of other software initiatives on higher and tertiary education, creates exciting prospects for the open agenda in tertiary and higher education. Ian will provide an overview of progress towards the merger, the likely shape and scope of the new foundation it will create and the opportunities this will create for the Sakai community.
【講師略歴】
Ian Dolphin is Executive Director of the Sakai Foundation, taking post on August 1st 2010. From 2008-2010 Ian was International Director of the e-Framework Partnership for Education and Research, a strategic partnership of the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) in the UK, the Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, the New Zealand National Library, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Research, Science and Technology.
From 2003-2008 Ian was Head of e-Strategy at the University of Hull, where he was responsible for advising on Information & Communications Technology strategic direction, and managing the Hull Digital University Project. He is former Deputy Chair of the JISC Integrated Information Environment Committee, and was a member of the Board of Directors of Jasig (2003-2008), the Sakai Project and Foundation (2004-2008), and Curriki.
Ian has a background in teaching, having taught Special Educational Needs English and Information & Communication Technology in Secondary schools and Further Education for fourteen years.

基調講演２ "The ATLAS Network Pilot: NYU's Sakai Open Academic Environment Initiative" (Tentative)"

Sakai のパイロットプログラムを推進しているニューヨーク大学の取り組みを，学生ポートフォリオや電子教科書，ビジネスアナリティクスの話題も含めながら，お話いただきます．
【概要】
In January 2011, NYU launched one of the first pre-release pilots of the revolutionary Sakai Open Academic Environment (OAE) for academic networking and collaboration in teaching, learning, and scholarship. Initial development on this project was begun by the Liberal Studies Program with a 2008 National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Digital Humanities Start-Up Grant for their Simonides ePortfolio tool. At NYU, Sakai OAE will be known as the ATLAS (Advanced Teaching, Learning, And Scholarship) Network.
Sakai OAE is innovative in its ability to provide a combination of academic networking, content authoring and management, and internal group structures. Its academic networking functionality allows participants to unite the multiple aspects of their university identities — in courses, research groups, administrative memberships, and co-curricular projects, for example — from a single dashboard and searchable profile space.
This talk addresses the current status of ATLAS Network, including new student portfolio features.
【講師略歴】
Lucy Appert co-chairs NYU's joint faculty and IT task force directing the NYU Sakai OAE project, and she leads the User Reference Group (URG) for the Sakai OAE Community Project. Dr. Appert holds a PhD in 17th & 18th c. British literature and has 18 years of teaching experience. She was the co-recipient of a 2008 NEH Digital Humanities Start-Up Grant to build an electronic portfolio tool for Sakai. Since 2006, she has worked with Liberal Studies' more than 2000 students and 130 faculty members in New York, London, Paris, Florence, and Shanghai to find creative educational technology solutions.
