Visualization Laboratory (Koyamada Lab.)

New technologies has made things convenient in the whole world. On the other hand, the problems to be solved have become more difficult because they are related to each other in a complex manner. To solve such problems, we have been expecting a hypothesis which can create a breakthrough based on interdisciplinary research activities. To promote them, many people believe that a collaborative research environment in which research scientists can communicate with each other beyond the space restriction is very important.
In our group, we develop remote collaboration technologies by sharing volume datasets, which are generated from computer simulation or real scene. Volume generation, volume visualization, and volume searching are main research topics. The long-term goal of our research is to shed some lights on knowledge creation environment through tele-immersive environments.
