ACCMS seminar “Childcare support through AI and studies of human development”

Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies (ACCMS) holds a seminar once in a month. We inviting active researchers from a variety of areas, and ask them to give talks about their research activity or issues in performing research, hoping to provide an opportunity for fruitful discussion among participants.

On an ACCMS seminar at December 15, we invite Mrs. Chizuko UCHIUMI at Hokkori-no Plus Co,, Ltd. and Prof. Shoji ITAKURA at Center for Baby Science, Doshisha University. We hope to have a lot of participants.

Speaker:Chizuko UCHIUMI  (CEO, Hokkori-no Plus Co,, Ltd.)
Title:“Hokkori AI”, a childcare chatbot
Abstract:We have been developing a chatbot which answers questions and worries about childcare in the COI project at Kyoto University. And as the advanced one, we are now preparing for demonstration experiments in automated stores equipped with video calling facilities. We introduce our measurement for realization and utilization of AI with empathic ability for mothers.  (The talk will be given in Japanese.)

Title:Babies who support others: prosocial behavior at infancy
Abstract:The recent researches on studies of human development show that babies in the early development stage are very sensitive to altruistic/prosocial behavior. In this talk, I introduce some empirical researches on babies' feelings of empathy and fairness.  (The talk will be given in Japanese.)
