Title:Key Points of On-Demand Class Development beyond Synchronous Online Classes
Abstract:COVID-19 forced many educational institutions to adopt online classes. At the time, the adoption of synchronous online classes was a reasonable emergency measure. However, now that the environment for online classes has been prepared, it is important to redesign traditional classes as online classes, rather than transferring them directly to online classes. On-demand classes are one way to take advantage of the features of online classes. In this presentation, the tips and points for shifting the online class format from synchronous to on-demand will be explained, introducing solutions to common problems and misunderstandings.  (The talk will be given in Japanese.)

◆17:30~18:20
Speaker:Hajime Kita  (Professor, Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences / Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University)
Title:On Practice of a Python Course at ILAS
Abstract:Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences of Kyoto University has open a programming course named 'Programming Practice (Python)' since 2018. It was also forced to held online in 2020 as well as other courses under the pandemic of COVID-19. In general education, computer programming is often treated just to experience it. On the other hand, in specialized education, it is taught more systematically so as to acquire skills for specialists. But such courses are given only to restricted enrolled learners. Elective programming courses in general education have characteristics between these two, and provide important learning opportunities for non-major students to acquire programming skill. This talk introduces issues in course design such as course objectives, contents, learning material considering self-study and mistakes made by novices and activities for formative assessment and flipped classroom.  Findings through practices of the course is also discussed.  (The talk will be given in Japanese.)
