ACCMS seminar “Analyzing personal traits via interaction in a group”

Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies (ACCMS) holds a seminar once in a month. We inviting active researchers from a variety of areas, and ask them to give talks about their research activity or issues in performing research, hoping to provide an opportunity for fruitful discussion among participants.
On an ACCMS seminar at 26th, May, we invite prof. Okada at JAIST and prof. Fukuhara at Institution for a Global Society / Hitotsubashi University. We hope to have a lot of participants.

Title: Human Behavior and Communication Analysis based on Multimodal Social Signal Processing
Abstract: Social signal processing (SSP) is a research area that aims at developing the computational model to recognize social behavior such as turn taking, personality, and communication skills from multimodal information including vocal activity, prosody, gazes, gesture and posture. SSP contributes many kinds of application such as human robot interaction and autonomous conversation analysis. In this talk, the fundamental techniques of SSP and ongoing studies using SSP are introduced. (The talk will be given in Japanese.)

Title: A competency and personality traits measurement of university students for analyzing group activities and supporting job matching - Development of “GROW” software and its evolvability -
Abstract: This lecture introduces a novel scheme of competency and personality traits measurement “GROW” used by over 140 thousands university students and company workers. Keio University and Hokkaido University have adopted it in matching participants for cooperative group activity and improving the job matching style to consist with academic learning, respectively. The results of these use case indicated challenges to be solved and availability of GROW for better evaluation criteria of students' individuality in education and recruitment.
