講演題目：「データマネジメントとデータアーカイビング」
“Data Management and Data Archiving”
講演概要：研究や教育においてデータを構造化して長期間にわたって保存したり、さらには長期間にわたって利用可能にする必要性がますます高まっている。貴重なデータを保護し、選択されたユーザに利用できるようにするためには、データ生成の段階からいくつかの側面を考慮する必要がある。本講演では、このテーマについての導入を行い、オブジェクト（テキスト、音声、動画など）を永続的なリンクとメタデータと共に保存する方法についてウィーン大学における実践的な洞察を提供する。PHAIDRA 等のデータアーカイブシステムに加えて、データのライフサイクル全体をサポートする他の支援ツールも紹介する。
データの良い管理と計画は、公開だけでなく、基礎となる研究データが長期にわたって検索され、アクセス可能で追跡可能となるための前提条件である。データの保存場所、セキュリティの確保方法、アクセス権限の付与者、保存の責任者（個人、部門、組織など）、およびデータの提供基準について明確にする必要がある。オープンサイエンスの意味での再利用性を確保するためには、ウェブを介して検索可能なデータアーカイブやリポジトリを利用するべきである。一般公開や利用のためには、データ保護、著作権、ライセンスなども考慮する必要がある。データマネジメントプランは、人的、時間的、財政的なリソースの計画と組織化を支援し、プロジェクト申請者、データアーカイブ管理者、研究サービス、資金提供機関を対象としている。
本講演では、個々の研究分野の異なる課題や事例についても議論する。
More and more often, there is a need to store data from research and teaching in a structured way for a longer period of time or even to make it available in the long term. In order to secure valuable data and make it available to selected users, some aspects need to be taken into account right from the start of data generation. This talk offers an introduction to the topic and gives a practical insight into how objects (text, audio, video, etc.) can be stored with a persistent link and metadata at the University of Vienna. In addition to systems for data archiving, such as PHAIDRA, other supporting tools for the entire life cycle of the data will also be presented.
Good data management and planning are the prerequisite for ensuring that, in addition to publications, underlying research data remain findable, accessible and traceable in the long term. It must be clarified where the data should be stored, how it is secured, who has access, who (which persons, department, organization) is responsible for storage and whether and according to which criteria data should be passed on. For reusability in the sense of Open Science, data archives or repositories should be used that enable retrieval via the web. For public visibility and use, data protection, copyrights and licensing, among other things, must be considered. Data Management plans support the planning and organisation of human, time and financial resources and are aimed at project applicants, data archive managers, research services and funding bodies.
We will also talk about the different challenges of the individual research disciplines and present case studies.

Dr. Susanne Blumesberger (Head, Department Repository Management, PHAIDRA-Services, Vienna University)
Head of department Phaidra, the university’s digital asset Management. Graduated with a Dr. Phil. in 1999, in German studies and communication sciences. She is also a member of the Open-Access-Group at the Vienna University Library.
Mr. Raman Ganguly (Head, Computer Center・IT-Support for Research, Vienna University)
Raman Ganguly is the leader of the Software Design and Development Department at the Vienna University Computer Center (ZID), and is an expert in software development and media technology. Since 2011, he has devoted his energies to the digital archivation of data from a technical perspective with a focus on architectonic models for technical implementation. His duties at the Vienna University include the technical development and operation of repositories, as well as the university website. For him, modular systems and consumer-oriented representation of data are the most important aspects of constructing modern IT landscapes.. Raman Ganguly is the technical leader of Phaidra, member of the Phaidra Steering Committee and coordinates the technical agenda of the international consortium www.phaidra.org. Since 2014, he has been the technical leader of the federal-grant (HSRM) project e-infrastructures Austria and since 2016 also the technical leader of the federal-grant project Open Education Austria. |
